3 Simple Ways For Better Sleep

3 Simple Ways For Better Sleep

It seems like everyone I know has been struggling to sleep recently. Maybe it's the summer heat, or maybe it's the all the extra anxiety floating around these days. All I know is that everyone is needing better sleep right now. So I thought I'd come at you with a quick post, on what has been helping me to sleep.

Sleep is such an important part of our lives, and there are so many different reasons to why people don't sleep well. A stressful day, a uncomfortable atmosphere, what's on our minds, our kids, etc. Not sleeping well, is common among so many people, myself included. Most of the time, I just lay there thinking, and my mind won't be quiet, and I won't get much sleep. Even if I'm exhausted.

We all need our sleep. These are three simple tips you can try, that have been helping me recently.

So whether you're stressed about school, work, or your kids were up all night, here are some quick tips to try that will help you drift you off, into dreamland and beyond.

First up,

1. Rescue Remedy Plus

Oh yeah, they make this stuff to help you sleep. *Double it up sister. My mom had actually bought this bottle for our dogs during the fourth of July (yes, you can give it to dogs too!) And it worked really well. That's the thing about Rescue Remedy. It's been used for over 75 years for animals, kids, and adults. It's a natural, safe, and effective. If you've never tried it, give it a shot. This is the sleep aid version. I usually take two when I feel like I need it, and it relaxes and calms you down, to a state where you feel like you can actually go to sleep. It's on Amazon for about $10 or so.

2. Tea Tea Tea

Okay, so everyone always shouts tea for everything. Night time, winding down, or for when you're sick. But they're right. Don't underestimate the power of a properly brewed cup of tea. Especially when it's paired with a few moments of peace. There is so many different teas, for so many different things. Making a cup is just as relaxing to me as sipping on it for the next hour. If I'm at home, I usually opt in for a cup around bedtime, and never regret it. Making it, and cradling the cup around nighttime, helps me to wind down from a long day. Try these varieties next time, and see it this helps.

Camomile
Peppermint
'Sleepytime' tea
Decaf Green tea
Ginger and Lemon
Yogi brand, Bedtime tea
Yogi brand stress relief
Kava tea

3. ASMR

I don't know if you've heard of this or not. This is something that I've been shown recently. I know this can seem strange. *trust me, I know. But if you're super anxious, and can't calm down, this might help you. Basically, ASMR is is the static-like tingling sensation that happens when you hear certain sounds, or voices, and they relax you. You may have felt this when you were a kid, when you heard the crackling fire, tapping on an object, or when someone brushed your hair. It's the calming feeling you get. The feeling of peace. Not in a weird way. You just literally feel relaxed.

There are people on YouTube, that make relaxation videos using ASMR to help guide you to sleep, or to feel more relaxed. Most of the time, they talk in a soft low voice. I usually like the more simple videos. That are just speaking, or sounds only. It really depends on the person in the video too. Some people I just can't listen to. It creeps me out. *haha. Everyone is different. WhispersRed on YouTube is the least creepy to me to be quite honest. She's great.

Does it seem weird? Yes. Do some people just not get it? Can it seem creepy? It definitely can. Does it take some getting used to? Yep.

But does it work? Yes it does!

Put your headphones in, and try these two videos, and see if they help you to sleep.

Check this one out!

This one too!

Look up ASMR to learn more about it. You definitely want to wear headphones, and to try ones that work for you. The goal here, is just for you to feel more relaxed, and more calm.

We all can try to sleep better. Do you need more sleep?

Let me know if these helped!

love,

toria.
