Coming at you today with another post! I've been waiting to make this one. This post is all about beautycounter's five minute face deal that they've were offering this past month. I've wanted to try beautycounter for a while now. if you don't know anything about them, let me just tell you..

They're a company dedicated to making safer products, made without all the harsh chemicals that are known to be packed into our personal cosmetics and hair products. Based in Santa Monica California, and being close to home, I wanted to give them a try. I really enjoy makeup, but am more interested in skincare, and the health benefits or hindrances that certain products can have on your skin. And beautycounter I've found, is the most honest, and purest, of companies to be making cosmetics in the business world today. Even though they're a little pricey, *kinda a lotta pricey, lol* I know these products are an investment to my health, and not by any means cheap products.

The main reason I wanted to grab a hold of this set, is that I've been looking for a simpler and safer makeup routine for everyday. After trying, and using these products for about two weeks, I am happy to say, I think I am in love.

Skin Tint Hydrating Foundation: $41 What I loved about it: This is a hydrating, tone evening, and balancing foundation. It's light on the skin, but holds itself throughout the day. It looks really natural, and gives your skin an overall glow. It's one of their best sellers on the site, and I can see why.

Lip Gloss: $29 What I loved about it: This lip gloss!! I have nothing but positive things to say here. I never thought I'd go for something like this. When ordering it, I was a little skeptical about it, but I was blown away. Aside from the foundation, this has to be my FAVORITE. It's not sticky on your lips, but ultra hydrating, and light. It finishes off any makeup look naturally, and gives you a natural polished look.

Bronzer/Blush Powder Duo: $40 What I loved about it: Honestly, that natural GLOW it gives you. The blush is super pretty, matte finish, and the bronzer, just the right amount of color. When I first swatched this, not a lot of product came through, but once you apply it to your face, it's a different story. I loved the packaging on this one too. The paper felt nice on the hands, and the magnetic lid was appreciated.

Volumizing Mascara: $29 What I loved about it: It didn't leave your lashes feeling dry, and crusty at the end of the day. It came off quite easily, but held it's own during the wear time. I was surprised how much volume actually gave me. The brush was sturdy, and a nice shape. Pretty packaging, and buildable.

Brow Pencil: $23 What I loved about it: I loved the double sided brush end, and pencil end as a duo together. I know it's an common and well known idea, but the quality of the brush was really surprising! It didn't collect all the fuzzies and dust that they normally attract. Having a lid for it, helps with that too, of course. The actual pencil gave a natural and full look to the brows as well. Definitely buildable, but easy to turn it into a softer look as well.

Concealer Pen: $32 What I loved about it: It was held up fairly well! Creamy consistency and blendable. Lighter coverage, but you could conceal more troubled areas if built upon.

Retractable Foundation Brush: $35 What I loved about it: The cool case!! *insert heart eyes here. It was just a lot of fun to open up and use. the brush seems soft at first but was a little prickly when I used it for the first time. The second or third time around, it became much softer once there was product in it. This is perfect for on-the-go, or traveling, to just throw in your purse if you need to do your makeup on the fly. Definitely useful, and a great addition to this set.

Changing things up a little bit today, and adding a video at the end of the post! I chat about the products in detail, and what I liked about them. I do apologize for the amature quality, and general awkwardness that is going on here.

It's all a little weird for me.

Ha! I wanted to make it all polished and professional, but ended up leaving in all the awkward moments and mistakes. It's super cringe to me, but better to me myself here, nervously chatty, and a little goofy..

I also hope you are all having a good start to your September!

If you want to try out beautycounter, I can direct you to two lovely ladies. If you're on the east coast- Katherine at Better Beauty Vermont is your girl. She is super sweet, and would be happy to get in touch with you.

And if you're on the west coast, Shannon @beautycountershannon on instagram would be more than happy to answer any of your questions as well.
